Woody and Kyoko visit Busan

On November 2nd, Bobby got off work early and got on the crowded subway to go meet his father Woody and the always lovely Kyoko. They had just began their month-long vacation and to kick things off they came to visit us in Busan!

Since they were only here for a weekend, we wanted to make sure they got a good look at what our city had to offer. Let's just say we kept things pretty busy.

On Saturday morning, Bobby made a delicious salmon and egg breakfast. Then, we packed up and met our friend Chris for an adventure to Teajondae- a beautiful natural park on the cliffs of Busan. It was a very busy day at the park, probably because it was a perfect warm fall day. After waiting in line, and getting cut by five old Korean women, we boarded a small yellow train-like bus that takes passengers around the park.

We had read online before coming to this park that they had small restaurants for people to eat fresh seafood. We thought it would be a perfect idea to get some fresh seafood lunch.. but when we made it to where we thought the restaurants were, we were just way too cold to move any closer to the water. Maybe we can come back in the spring or summer and enjoy these restaurants!

After the hike, we stopped for lunch - a messy seafood stew and bi bim bop.

Sunday, we visited Jagalchi fish market. It was a busy day at the market. We spent hours observing the wide variety of seafood and haggling with the occasional merchant.

During their trip we also got to go to a wine bar that over looks the city, watch a traditional song and dance performance, Woody and Kyoko visited our school and meet our kindergarten kids, and we even got to play a game of Scattegories at our apartment! When it was time to go our separate ways it was very hard to part. We loved having them here and look forward to the next time we get to see them in person.

We love you.
